Nestled by the ocean and just five minutes from Keflavík International Airport, our course, Hólmsvöllur í Leiru, offers an unforgettable 18-hole experience. Enjoy breathtaking views over Faxaflói Bay, striking lava landscapes, and a challenging yet accessible round for golfers of all levels.

 

We offer four tee boxes, making the course enjoyable and playable for all ages and skill levels. Recent updates in 2024 have enhanced the course flow — it now opens with more welcoming holes that ease players into the round, while the final stretch offers a relaxed finish with sweeping views from the 18th green across the entire course.

 

But don’t get too comfortable too early. Holes 10 to 14 — often dubbed Iceland’s “Amen Corner” — form one of the most demanding five-hole stretches in the country, requiring precision, strategy, and full concentration.

 

The crown jewel of the course is the par-3 12th hole, Bergvík — widely considered the most iconic par-3 in Iceland. It’s the only hole in the country known by name, and for good reason: from the back tee, golfers must carry nearly 200 yards over open sea to reach the green. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime golf shot.

 

Hólmsvöllur is a championship-level course. The Icelandic National Championship was held here in 2024, and we’re proud to be hosting the Icelandic Match Play Championship in 2026.

 

We offer club and cart rentals, and after your round, relax at our cozy on-site restaurant — the perfect place to enjoy a meal or drink with a view.
